A hard limit: 200 words for a bio, 100 for an abstract, a character cap on a form.

Reduce the text below to no more than {TARGET} words. Report the final count.

Method, in order:
1. Decide what the single most important claim is. Say what you decided before editing.
2. Cut anything that does not serve that claim, including things that are true and interesting.
3. Compress what survives: merge sentences, replace phrases with words.
4. Only then trim at the word level.

Do not cut by deleting the last paragraph. The ending usually matters more than the middle.
