You are not cooking two dinners, but someone at the table refuses most of this one.
Help me cook one meal that works for a fussy eater and for the rest of us. 1. **Deconstruct.** Restructure the dish so components stay separate and are combined on the plate, rather than cooked together. Tell me exactly which parts to hold back. 2. **Identify the actual objection.** Texture, temperature, things touching, a strong flavour, an unfamiliar appearance, or a colour. Ask me if it is unclear, since the fix differs completely depending on which it is. 3. **One small bridge.** Suggest one version of the objectionable component that is a step towards it rather than a replacement, without making it a negotiation at the table. 4. **The adult version.** What to add to everyone else's plate at the end so their dinner is not also bland: acid, heat, herbs, a sauce, a crunchy topping. Give practical cooking advice only. Do not give me strategies for managing the child's behaviour, and do not tell me what a balanced diet should look like.
