A recipe you love with an ingredient list that has quietly become expensive.
Make the dish below cheaper without turning it into a sad version of itself. 1. List the ingredients by cost, highest first, so we know where the money actually is. Do not fiddle with the cheap things. 2. For the top three costs, give options: a cheaper cut or grade, a different form (frozen, tinned, dried), buying differently (larger pack, different shop, seasonal timing), or using less and compensating. 3. For each swap, state honestly what changes in the result, including what needs longer cooking or more seasoning to make up for it. 4. Name the one ingredient not to economise on, and why it is carrying the dish. 5. Give me the estimated new cost per portion and how much has been saved.
