A recurring meeting that has become a status ritual nobody defends.
Assess whether the meeting below could be replaced with async work. 1. Break the meeting into what it actually does: sharing information, making decisions, solving problems together, building relationships, or creating accountability. Each has a different async substitute, or none. 2. State which parts genuinely need people talking at the same time. Be strict but do not pretend real-time discussion is never necessary. 3. Design the async replacement for the rest: the format, the cadence, who writes, who must respond, and the deadline. 4. Name what would be lost, honestly, and say whether that loss is acceptable. 5. Draft the message proposing the change to the group, under 120 words, framed around what they get back. 6. Define how we would know in a month whether it worked. The meeting:
