The end of the interview, when "no, I think you've covered everything" is a wasted move.
Give me questions to ask at the end of this interview. Produce four groups, three questions each: 1. **The work itself.** What I would actually be doing in month one, and how it is decided. 2. **How the team operates.** Decisions, review, disagreement, what happens when something slips. 3. **Honest risk.** Questions that surface why this role is open, what the last person found hard, what is not working yet. 4. **For the hiring manager specifically.** What good looks like at six months, in their words. Rules: no questions answerable from the careers page, no flattery disguised as a question, nothing that reads as interrogating them. For each question add one line on what a bad answer would sound like, so I know what I am listening for. Role and interviewer:
Interviews. Preparing answers, questions and stories before the call, and the note you send after it.
