The parent, partner or friend who says "don't get me anything" and means it.
This person genuinely does not want things. Take that seriously rather than working around it. 1. Tell me which kind of "nothing" this is: they dislike clutter, they dislike being spent on, they have everything, or they find receiving uncomfortable. Ask me if you cannot tell. 2. Based on that, suggest gifts that do not accumulate: something consumable, something that replaces a worn-out thing they already use, something that removes a chore, time with you, or a small act done rather than bought. 3. Give me one idea that costs nothing and would still land. 4. Tell me what to avoid specifically for this type of person, and why it would misfire. Do not suggest "an experience" as a category. Name actual things. If the right answer is to respect their wish and simply write them something, say that plainly rather than filling the space. About the person: Occasion:
Tricky recipients. Colleagues, near-strangers, people who want nothing, and gifts that could land as pressure.
